Infinity Ward on Modern Warfare 3: “Main Priority: Address laggy connections.”

Robert Bowling (Gamer. Geek. Creative Strategist @InfinityWard on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3) has just tweeted the following message:

“Early morning #MW3 update meetings, lots of important stuff. I’ll keep you posted once we wrap. Main priority: Address laggy connections.”

This is great news because number 1 this shows that Infinity Ward are clearly acknowledging that there is a problem with connections and for some users it is making the game unplayable. Number 2 it shows that they are going to try and fix it!

Since this matter is being classed as a priority we should see a quick turnaround in the time it takes to fix the connection issues. We hope they can fix the problems as soon as possible since it seems to be a problem for majority of online players, regardless of their personal connection speed since the problem is on Call of Duty’s end of things. Check here for some network fixes you can try to get the optimum connection and stay tuned for more info!

He later tweeted regarding whether we will be informed on what the patches will include, which is definatley welcome since we still have had no official word on what was added in the 1.04 patch recently released. At least we have been promised some extra information this time! The second tweet was as follows:

“Once we have all the substantial updates in the pipeline for release, I’ll draft up some patch notes for what all is changing.”

For PC users: For those of you who have been suffering from the Stealth Bomber Killstreak glitch, a hotfix is in the works for that and will be released very soon.

Update: The official MW3Updates twitter feed has tweeted the following message:

“Lots of #MW3 updates planned this week addressing laggy games, stat loss prevention and more.”

It would seem nearly everything we are suffering from is going to be fixed! We’ll just have to stick it out till a patch comes but we can be sure that there will be fixes on the way which is great.

i was just playing MW3 there and felt compelled to e-mail, why havnt you fixed the respawn points? the amount of people ive heard complain about them is ridiculous , its bad enough you have to watch out for noobs camping, quickscoping and drop shotting but when you have someone who spawns pretty much within a stone throws distance from you is shocking!! also the amount of people who just camp is also ridiculous i know it cant be helped but SURELY there must be SOMETHING you’s can do it makes the game very unenjoyable to play, and also the amount of people complaining about that too is ridiculous. maybe you should be consentrating on that also just please do something so many people have just stopped playing because noobs are ripping the ass completely out the game n i think the games been hacked to with mods i know you probably get alot of these e-mails so hopefully you’s do something about it soon otherwise people just wont bother with it anymore… i know im sure as hell getting to that stage!!!

Hey its a good game however the not being able to connect to servers is very aggravating, and because my work transfers me all over the country every 3 weeks or so I am not able to change the router as I am using hotel internet. I have currently been unable to connect for 4 days and counting, hopefully you find a way to fix this soon, theres quite a few people getting off the CoD bandwagon. I hope I do not need to be one of them, thanks for your help.

Has anyone found a solution to the fat-PS3 crashing issue? Confirmed that reinstalling game data and save data does not work (multiple fails). Only got around the midway point of the campaign, and it constantly shuts my machine down in the first few minutes of ‘Bag and ‘Drag’. No sense in even attempting multiplayer as the crashes are random. Happened 5 times now, and I am not willing to risk any more until there is a confirmed fix.

Activision have dropped the ball on this, and I will think twice and do research before I even consider another one of their games. No more first-day buys for me.
