Modern Warfare 3 Patch / Update 1.07 coming on the 17th december

In another Twitter post from @FourZeroTwo (Creative Strategist at Infinity Ward on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3) we have been informed that the next major update for Modern Warfare 3 will be coming before the Christmas holiday break. The post is as follows:

“Finalizing the last set of #MW3 updates before the Holiday break. We plan to get out a Lag Compensation update & introduce Hardcore Ricochet”

So apart from the Lag Compensation problem and the introduction of the Hardcore Ricochet game mode what else can we look forward to? Well, in an earlier official post by Call of Duty here, we learnt that many more updates were on the way in the future.

Take a look at the list below of what will be included in the 1.07 update:

  • Further “lag compensation” or “host advantage / disadvantage” updates plus ability for on-going hot fixes based on feedback.
  • Plus ability to hot fix additional tweaks based on user feedback to this change.
  • New public playlists: “DROP ZONE, Hardcore HQ, & Ricochet variants inbound.”
  • Hit Marker sounds on the PS3 will not be in the 1.07 update but are coming in a future release. (Released in a Hot Fix a few days earlier)

The one we are really looking forward to is the spawning system which has been a nightmare for some players. I personally have seen myself spawn on an enemies Killcam so this is an area that definatley needs improvement. In an official release note though this will not be fixed in the 1.07 update so we are still waiting on that.

Hardcore Ricochet is a hardcore version of the Headquarters game mode as well as Search & Destroy. In Modern Warfare 2 the team killing feature was disabled in this game mode and instead damaged inflicted onto team mates was reflected back to you. Ofcourse it could be different in Modern Warfare 3 so stay tuned for more info!

Another update improving voice quality is coming for the PS3 too at somepoint but won’t get certified by the PlayStation Network until January.
