The Call of Duty: Elite Twitter profile have announced multiple times that a mobile version of the subscription based service will be coming as soon as they are confident that their servers can handle the extra load. Since the service was launched they have had many problems with the huge volume of users playing Modern Warfare 3 and logging onto the Elite service and it pushed the servers to the limits causing the service to be shut down soon after launch.
When users signed up for the Elite service they were told that mobile applications would be available at launch on the following platforms: iPhone, iPad, Android, PS3 and Xbox 360. Currently the iOS and Android applications are not available because they are not confident they can handle the extra load, a blow for premium users who have paid for the premium service.
The Call of Duty: Elite Twitter profile have promised multiple times that they will be released when they can handle it, we hope this is soon since we are really looking forward to what the dedicated mobile applications have to offer.
The tweet is as follows: “For those asking about mobile apps: we’re releasing IOS & Android apps when we’re sure the service can handle the extra traffic, stay tuned.”
December 1′st is when they have announced to be fully operational, presumably once they upgrade their servers. The game and service was launched on the 8th of November so we should see it fully operational in the coming days or weeks.
Until that time you can always log onto the Elite service through your mobile devices browser if you want to use it on the go! Subscribe to our RSS feed and we’ll keep you posted on when the mobile apps are released.
