MW2 map Terminal coming to Call of Duty: MW3 free for everyone on PC August 17th.

Infinity Ward has just revealed via their Facebook Page that Terminal will be coming to all PC Players on the 17th of August.

The classic map from Modern Warfare 2 will be absolutely free for all MW3 Players.

We recently spoke about the Terminal coming to the Xbox 360 first here. Basically due to the Microsoft Activision contract which covers all DLC, Terminal will be coming to the Xbox 360 first and then one month later for PC and PS3 which is what has happened.

The map has been completely re-skinned with all of the English text being converted to russian but the basic map layout is the same. Much like how Carentan was remade into China Town.

Current Terminal Release Schedule:

  • Xbox 360 ELITE – 17th July
  • Xbox 360 – 18th July
  • PlayStation 3 ELITE – 16th August
  • PS3 & PC – 17th August

The new map is completely seperate from the ELITE Content Calendar and Content Collections, it is an extremely kind gesture on Infinity Ward’s side of things as they are giving it to everyone, absolutely free. Enjoy it people!

It is early days for the next addition to the Call of Duty franchise but information has been leaked by online via official forums which have revealed lots of information about the multiplayer experience in Black Ops 2 as well as a release date set for November 6th. (via MP1st)

Some information we are certain of is the game is being developed by Treyarch who have previously created titles such as the original Black Ops and World at War.

Please note that none of this information has been officially confirmed but it gives us a good insight of what to expect in Black Ops 2.

The information below was posted in the official Black Ops forums which was later taken down after which it appeared on the Activision official forums where again it was taken down so it sort of gives the information some authenticity that the developer and publisher do not what us to know about this.

Content Drops 4, 5, 6 will be coming to PS3 “around April 12ish”

In the recent ELITE TV video from Call of Duty, it was revealed that the content drops 4 to 6 for premium ELITE PlayStation 3 members will be coming “on or around 4/12″.

The PlayStation 3 ELITE members will also be getting the third drop Overwatch on the 29th of March.

Oneofswords from Activision reveals explains the reason there is no fixed date for the PlayStation 3: “Why “on or around?” Because the exact posting time for PSN DLC is up to Sony, since they run and update the PlayStation Store. Maybe that updated will be mid-morning, or maybe it will be late in that day; maybe that will make it actually technically the next day if you live in Europe, which would be “around 4/12.” Activision can’t promise a date because Activision doesn’t update the digital stores itself. I think of it as if Activision is Pepsi and Sony is the grocery store; we deliver the fizzy water, but they actually run the checkout line.”

Either way at least we know it is one its way to us in early April so it will be far less than a month after the release of Overwatch that the next three drops will be arriving! Subscribe to our RSS feed here to keep updated with all the latest info.

When will the Map Pack DLC drop for PS3 ELITE Premium users?

Update: In an official statement, it was revealed that the DLC for ELITE Premium PS3 members will arrive on the 28th of November.

On the 24th of January the first two content drops for Xbox 360 ELITE Premium members was released. As many of you will already know, Xbox 360 users always get content before all other platforms with Call of Duty (More info on that here). The question that is facing many users though is when will the drops come for PS3 players?

Although no date has been officially released yet, judging by previous release times it shouldn’t be too hard to predict when it will be.

For example, the Black Ops: Rezurrection map pack was released on the 23rd of August 2011 for Xbox 360 users and the 24th of September for PC and PS3 players. As with all of the Black Ops map packs, the release date for PS3 and PC was nearly always exactly a month after the Xbox.

Since this is clearly around the right amount of time which was agreed in the contract between Activision and Microsoft, we can assume that the DLC map packs will drop for PS3 Elite meembers somewhere around the 24th of Feburary.

The timeframe for all platforms will likely be as follows:

Xbox 360 Elite Subscriber: 24th January 2012
PlayStation 3 Elite Subscriber: Around the 24th of Feburary
Xbox 360: Expected for a March release (As part of a Full Map Pack DLC)
PlayStation 3: Likely not until April (As part of a Full Map Pack DLC)
PC: Likely not until April (As part of a Full Map Pack DLC)

HD Video Uploads coming to PS3 in January

The theatre mode is a big part of Call of Duty these days. It gives you the chance to share your awesome moments and games with your friends and (if you are an Elite member) upload them directly to YouTube!

Even though HD Video uploads were promised with the Elite service for all subscribers it was not available for the PlayStation 3.

Robert Bowling has however officially confirmed that it will be arriving in an update (likely 1.08) which will be released January next year.
